Why Grandmother's Bellydance?

Middle Eastern women of all ages and sizes gather with their families to celebrate the joy of birth, engagement, marriage, and birthdays by dancing. Their dance traditions are passed down through the generations - mother to daughter.

I created Grandmother's Bellydance to share this wonderful tradition and my love of bellydance with friends, family, and neighbors. Women explore this exotic, sensual, and healthy dance form in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. Women of all sizes and ranges of fitness enjoy bellydance. I encourage individual growth and development of personal style. The dances can be the earthy Egyptian baladi (country dance) or the elegant raqs sharqi (oriental dance), the more exuberant Turkish style, American tribal, ultra gypsy, or a varied mixture, but all remain - bellydance! So come and express your individuality, femininity, sensuality, and love of music.
